Our team rocks! That’s why we take the time each month to recognize a team member who has done extraordinary work for their program. We bestow upon them NYCID’s golden dove along with the title Team Member of the Month.

For the month of March 2022 we have chosen to honor Marwa Odeh, Group Leader at PS 59 Advantage Aftercare. Marwa is always looking to provide the best possible experience for her students. She helps out with other groups whenever she can and truly displays what it means to be a NYCID Group Leader. Marwa exhibits NYCID’s core value of resilience throughout her time with our organization. She goes where she is needed most, whether it’s SISCL, The Dongan Hills Learning Lab, PS 59 or PS 48. Marwa seamlessly integrates the NYCID Peace Approach and our core values into all that she does!

To present Marwa’s award Associate Executive Director Ivy Bilotti Gathered her Program Directors for what Marwa thought would be a virtual training session.  Marwa was so Surprised when Executive Director Michael DeVito Jr. Announced that she was March’s Team Member of the Month! He presented her certificate and showed off her very own golden dove. Marwa’s Program Director Giselle Vargas said Marwa is her right hand. She is always helping and when she learns something new, she sticks with it. When she learned the Peace Approach it was like she had always known it. Marwa was so surprised and happy that she received this award. She said she was really not expecting it but thanked her peers.

Congratulations Marwa, keep doing your thing and improving lives!
