NYCID is a verified New York City Public School’s Project Pivot Partner
We have successfully implemented Project Pivot programming at ten schools, including PS 78, PS 84, IS 72, Port Richmond, Concord, Medical Professions, Tottenville, Mckee, and Wagner High Schools. Our services have included intensive mentoring, mindfulness and well-being, sports and recreation, and career development programs.
Since 1970, we’ve served over 10,000 people annually through partnerships with NYC Public Schools (Community Schools, Learning to Work, After School Enrichment, 21st Century, District 75 services), DYCD (SONYC, COMPASS, SYEP, YouthBuild), and the Department of Probation (Arches, ICM).
As Staten Island’s Conflict Dispute Resolution Center (CDRC), we bring unique expertise in restorative practices and conflict management. We’re particularly proud of our partnership with the DOE’s Office of Restorative Justice, where we’ve trained youth in Peer Mediation across 116 schools citywide.
We are a DYCD Crisis Management Systems provider, and a New York State Violence Prevention Awardee.
Our Approach Aligns with Project Pivot’s Focus:
- Safety and violence prevention
- Student leadership and career readiness
- Student counseling and mentoring
- Enrichment through sports, recreation, and the arts
