Divorce and separation can have a big impact on your child’s development and well-being. To help with the shift in the family, we offer the Parent Class: Assisting Children through Transition, or ACT. This class provides parents with skills and information to reduce conflict, strengthen parent-child relationships, and foster the children’s healthy development.

adult-services    ACT is offered monthly by NYCID, in either one 6-hour or two 3-hour sessions, and is facilitated by professionals trained in one or more of: psychology, family therapy, social work, law and mediation. This is a New York State Parent Education and Awareness Program (PEAP) certified class. Participants will receive a Handbook for Parents and a Resource Guide that contains useful guidelines, informative articles, and referrals that are available to assist in finding help and support.
