Surrounded by their mentors, probation officers and staff members, and an abundance of families and friends, 13 Staten Island young people successfully completed ARCHES, a Department of Probation Transformative Mentoring Program.
Intensive Relationship Building is the key to Program's Success.
To date, Arches has served 956 probation clients citywide in 20 different sites, with 100 mentors located in all five boroughs.
Many of the young people enrolled in the Arches program were out of school, unemployed or facing a potential violation of probation at the time they entered the program. However, many have solidified gainful employment, returned to school and/or enrolled in school to pursue a skilled trade.
