Last year, over 700,000 people worldwide kicked off the holiday season in the spirit of giving. In one day, 700,000 people in over 70 countries helped change the world for the better. Overnight, $116,000,000 was given to charity groups, community organizations, and the unfortunate. The Holiday season is the season for giving. For improving the lives of others. To lend a hand. Following the intense shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, comes Giving Tuesday. This November 29th, join the worldwide movement to make a difference for the people of your community.
Helping others is the reason for the season. Start off your winter with a donation to a charity that helps make a change in your world. We hope that this season, you and your families will participate in this worldwide movement by donation to a local group that makes a difference. The New York Center for Interpersonal Development (NYCID) has worked to better the Staten Island community for over 45 years.
The NYCID has created a number of programs to help children and young adults on Staten Island. Our After School Enrichment programs for children and teenagers teach students to give back to the community. The Young Adult Borough Center (YABC) helps teens and young adults struggling to finish high school to become goal oriented learners with the tools to succeed beyond the walls of the schools.
Our programs provide training for community members to become community leaders. But our community organization needs community action. With your help this Giving Tuesday, we can make a change for a better. Support the Staten Island by helping us better the lives of our youth.
Thank you to all who supported us in the past and those who will help us, and Staten Island, in the future.  Click for more information about Giving Tuesday.
