NYCID’s Schools Out NYC program at PS 48 has been busy helping the community. In September, the students learned about hunger issues many people in America, and the world, face. The staff and students decided to get involved. After watching some documentaries on hunger and some research, the students began to collect food and clothes for the holidays. PS 48 students and their families collected 18 boxes of food, as well as a large number of clothing bags, and delivered it to Christian Pentecostal Church on December 23, 2015. The students unloaded the food and stocked the pantries during their visit.
