In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd, older students of NYCID’s afterschool programs read to the younger participants of the afterschool programs at PS 48.

Three boys (8th Graders) from P.S./I.S. 48 William Wilcox, participants of NYCID’s SONYC (New York Center for Interpersonal Development, Schools out NYC) Middle after school Program, read Dr. Seuss books to 2nd Graders who are also students of P.S. 48 William Willcox and participants of NYCID’s Compass after school program.

Descriptions of NYCID’s afterschool programs:
SONYC Programs: Free middle school after-school program funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development. NYCID’s SONYC programs are structured like clubs to offer young people choice in how they spend their time. There is a strong focus on STEM and Leadership activities led by professional/DOE staff.
COMPASS- an after school program funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development and offered for grades K-8.
