success stories picRomario Alleyne

Seldom in life is a person given another chance to correct past mistakes. A native of Barbados and soon to be a high school graduate, I never expected my dream to become my reality. While living in Barbados I was surrounded by bad influences, and became victim of peer pressure which lead to being expelled from school at the age of 16. One year later I moved to the United States to live with my father in Brooklyn. The hardest part was adapting to my new surroundings, learning how to use public transportation, and speaking without a strong accent. After attending one local high school it was suggested that I go to a transfer school so I would be able to graduate. I chose the Olympus Academy. My first day at Olympus Academy was better than all the others at schools I had attended in the past. The most special part of my first day was that everyone knew my name. I quickly became so comfortable at the Olympus Academy. I was able to work at my own pace which helped me excel as a student there. As time progressed I earned a lot of credits, received several achievement awards from the school, and passed my Regents exams.

I want to express my gratitude to Frank Teegan, Andrew, Adrian, Ernestine and the entire Olympus Academy staff for helping me reach this pinnacle of success, and for also giving me the key to unlock the greatness within myself which I failed to acknowledge. THANK YOU for giving me that second opportunity to succeed.
