Recently, a graduate of our YABC program contacted us with some great news. After struggling through high school, Ali had joined our YABC (Young Adult Borough Center) program; to get back on the right track and graduate. With the help of NYCID and members of the community; Ali graduated both the YABC and his school.

Ali told us that only 2 years after going through our program and moving on to college; he made the Dean’s List. The College of Staten Island sent him a letter congratulating him on his achievement. In just 2 years Ali went from struggling to graduate; to rising above the rest.
Ali and many of our other graduates from the YABC program have moved on to succeed. With the help of the New York community this Giving Tuesday, we can continue to improve the lives of local kids, teens, and young adults like Ali. The YABC is just one of NYCID’s many programs developed to help better our community and strengthen families within it.
