Bronx River Art Center (BRAC) is a culturally diverse, multi-arts, non-profit organization that provides a forum for community, artists, and youth to transform creativity into vision. Our Education, Exhibitions, Artist Studios, and Presenting Programs cultivate leadership in an urban environment and stewardship of our natural resource — the Bronx River.
Responsibilities:
- Assist teaching artists in leading creative activities and classroom instruction.
- Support students during hands-on art projects and help manage materials.
- Oversee the daily 30-minute snack period, encouraging respectful behavior and cleanliness.
- Help with student pick-up and drop-off, ensuring smooth and safe transitions.
- Participate in maintaining a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
Requirements:
- Strong interest in art, education, or working with youth.
- Preferably some experience tutoring, mentoring, or supervising children.
- Open-minded, creative, and comfortable engaging with students ages 7–12.
- Willingness to participate in messy, hands-on art activities.
- Dress code: Comfortable casual attire with closed-toe shoes, limited appropriate graphics, and no revealing clothing.

Shift 1:
Thursday– Friday 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Saturday 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Shift 2:
Wednesday 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Thursday 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Friday 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Saturday 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
