Instructions for Enrolling in SYEP If You Have Been Selected

If you have been selected in SYEP, please follow these instructions.

Take photos of the required documents from the appropriate checklist. Make sure your pictures shows the entire document clearly.
1. Click on this checklist if you will be between the ages of 14-15 on July 1st: CLICK HERE

Go to the Participant Site and upload those photos in the Documents menu. Click here to go to the participant site or go to https://participant.yepsonline.org/
Fill out the forms listed in the Documents. You will see Participant Enrollment Survey, the I-9, and the Universal Data Sharing Consent, and if you are 16 years of age or older, you will also see the W-4 and IT-2104.

If you upload all of the required documents and complete the forms, it will be reviewed by a NYCID enrollment specialist. If all of your documents and forms meet the requirements of SYEP, you may be enrolled, however, all spots are limited. We have more applicants than we have spots available this summer.

For Lottery Applicants ONLY: If you were selected in the lottery that took place on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, you have until Sunday April 26th, 2026 to submit all documents and forms. All documents and forms must meet requirements, see below under “TIPS FOR SUCCESS” for more information. If you do not enroll, your application will be returned to the application pool and you may not be selected again.

NOTE: Enrollment for all SYEP programs is not guaranteed even if you uploaded documents and completed forms. You must meet all requirements.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

In order to land your job, it is important to follow the directions your employer has outlined. See these tips below for SYEP Enrollment:

NEW FOR 2026 – If you are an Older Youth Participant, you do not need to submit the Sexual Harassment Prevention Training certificate now. You will need to submit it after you are enrolled.
NEW FOR 2026 – Some applicants must upload their DOE Transcript. There is a category specifically for this. Please upload your most recent school transcript which should have the classes and grades from 2025/Term 1 on it where it says Transcript Upload.
Participant Enrollment Survey: Do not leave any blanks spaces. Complete all the way until the end.
You must fill out the I-9 document. Check the box with your citizenship status, sign your name, check the “Agree” box, and check the box if you used a preparer or not.
If you are an Older Youth Participant, ask your parent/guardian for help with the W4 and IT 2104. These forms must be completed to be enrolled into the program.
You must complete the Data Sharing Agreement form.
If a field in any form asks for a “signature”, type in your full name.
For whatever document you upload, we should be able to see the entire document. Make sure your picture is clear and readable. Make sure you can see the entire document before uploading it.
Social Security Cards & United States Passports MUST be signed.
Any Photo ID must be official- from a school or government agency.
Any picture of a birth certificate needs to be in full including the document number at the bottom of the certificate.
Proof of Address must have a date within the last 6 months. Please do not upload a document that does not have a date. Do not upload a picture of an envelope. It must be an eligible document from the checklist. It does not need to be in your name! It can be in your parent or guardian’s name.
If you are a male who will be 18 years old or older on July 1st, you must complete Selective Service. Go to https://sss.gov/register to register if it is your first time and/or go to https://sss.gov/verify to get a verification letter.

At your school, please see your Guidance Counselor or visit the Nurse’s office to obtain a form to bring to your doctor and then return to your school.
