When we think of getting or being in the Zone we see ourselves as focused, centered, happy, content.

We often envision some famous athlete throwing 100 consecutive three pointers or musician rocking out an solo. We can all be in the Zone though and we all have some experience feeling this way.

This lesson is about finding that space in this space.

Expectations

The first steps you take with us will help you understand how we will work together:

  • Practice Journaling and Pro-Action Plans
  • Create Career Zone Accounts

Take a moment to Breath

Three Simple Steps:

1. Inhale fully in and expand belly muscles – 3 to 5 seconds to fill the diaphragm

2. Exhale out and release and relax belly – Don’t force the air out.

3. Chose the most comfortable nose/ mouth pattern.

Documenting The Journey

Always Journaling

Take a few minutes with some pen and paper and get out of your head for a few minutes. Describe how you were feeling or as we say, What was moving in you as you were breathing?

Watch the two videos on the right which are about finding fulfilling work and exploring careers, and then complete STEP ONE in your Proaction Plan: CareerZone which will help you document, what you feel you already know about career paths.

Doing this before you do your assessment will allow you to have a before and after set of results.

What is Valuable?

So how do we decide what we will do with our lives?

You may often hear people say that you need to “follow your bliss” or that you have to do what makes you happy. While professional happiness is important, the way you get there might not always be through your heart.

Pro-Action Plan Step Week Two (3 of 5): What is Valuable to You?

Take some time to think about the things that are most valuable to you. Also, consider how you have been thinking about the career you might want to pursue?

Then on the “Career Journey” Page in your Pro-Action plan use the space provided to share your ideas.

Remember: you can choose any write your answers, or record an audio or video file to express your ideas.

Note: You will need to discuss your answers in our circles during our sessions together.

Okay so now that you have your thoughts collected, WATCH the video on this page and when you are done take the time to create your Career Zone account by clicking the Career Zone image below.

When you are finished return here to complete the two steps
