Last year, one of our own was shot down by a stranger. Cesar Sanchez, a graduate of our YABC program, was killed outside of the Berry Homes in September. He taken away from his family and friends at the age of twenty. He was a basketball coach and helped many younger kids in his neighborhood. Cesar was accepted into multiple CUNY schools and had planned to attend college in 2015. He also wanted to one day run the New York City Marathon. There will be a Cesar Sanchez Tribute Run on Sunday, May 10th. Because this is Mother’s Day, participating moms will receive a special gift to honor Cesar and his mom, Maris Sanchez. The run begins at New Dorp Beach, and ends at Miller Field. Registration begins at 8:00 AM, and the run begins at 10:00. The cost to register is $20. All proceeds will go to The Cesar Sanchez Memorial Scholarship. Run, walk, or just donate. Each step is one towards ending gun violence. Help us raise awareness and stop the gun violence in our streets. To donate or register, and for full details, click here.
