NYCID has had a very successful 2015. NYCID’s first Next STEPS (Striving Towards Engagement and Peaceful Solutions) class had its graduation. The School’s Out New York City (SONYC) group helped clean up the area Outside of the 121st precinct. We held our “Amazing Race” for students from the NYCID’s Young Adult Borough Center (YABC) program. The YABC program was honored with EatSmart’s “Charity of the Month” award for August. NYCID, along with a team from the Stop Hunger Now group and students of Staten Island’s I.S./P.S. 48, worked to package over 10,000 meals people in developing countries. Our annual fundraising benefit was held, and was a success. We held the Cesar Sanchez Tribute Run, honoring a YABC graduate who was an outstanding member of the Staten Island community. We work to help over 7,000 members of the community on an annual basis, and every year we strive to make Staten Island a better place for everyone here. We would not be able to do as much as we do without the support of our staff, board, volunteers, and community.
