Next STEPS GradsOn September 30th, NYCID’s first Next STEPS (Striving Towards Engagement and Peaceful Solutions) class had its graduation. All 17 of the participants graduated and achieved the goals they set within our curriculum.
Next STEPS: Transformative Mentoring Intervention, sponsored by the New York City Department of Probation, is a curriculum-based group mentoring intervention that helps young adults transform their attitudes and behaviors that have led or will lead to violence or criminal activity. The Mentees all identified goals at the beginning of the program such as finding a job, graduating high school, enrolling and completing GED classes, become eligible for their high school sport team, completing a certification course, and more. All 17 of our graduated achieved the goals they were striving towards.
Congratulations to our first set of graduates from the Next STEPS program!
