This year our event will take place in coordination with the renaming of the basketball courts at General Douglas MacArthur Park in honor of our Cesar.

Please join us for a 1 mile run at the Berry Homes, Staten Island to honor the memory of Cesar Sanchez, who was felled by a gunshot on September 24, 2014.

The registration for our run walk is free and we are asking for all who can contribute to do so here: DONATE LINK

After the run/walk we will spend the day together celebrating Cesar’s life and legacy.

 Can’t run? Not a problem.

Come by and walk with us…every step is a step closer to ending gun violence!

Register Here.

Cesar graduated from NYCID’s Staten Island Young Adult Borough Center, seen here being congratulated by this mom at our June 2014 commencement ceremony.  Cesar was a basketball coach and his life was ended by a stranger as he was to begin college.  Cesar’s winning spirit and community service were present in every aspect of his life.  Staff and students of NYCID’s YABC program find strength every day in that spirit.  We will never forget.  Help us raise awareness and stop the gun violence in our streets.

Apply for The Cesar Sanchez Memorial Scholarship
